In-Person Tendon & Achilles Treatment in Edmonton

Everything on this site works whether you're figuring this out on your own or working with someone directly. If you're in the Edmonton area, you can do both: start with the free self-assessment, then come see me in person at 4 Points Health for a hands-on evaluation and treatment plan.

Direct billing available · Free parking · 2 blocks from Telus World of Science

I built PainFreeTendon because most tendon advice online is either too vague to act on or too technical to use. The free resources and self-assessment here give you that framework no matter where you live. But if you're local to Edmonton, there's no substitute for a real hands-on assessment — so I also see patients in person at 4 Points Health, the multi-disciplinary clinic where I practice.

In-Person vs. On Your Own

What a hands-on visit adds

The free guidance here gets most people moving in the right direction. In-person care fills in what a website can't.

🖐️

Hands-on assessment

I test your specific movement patterns and load tolerance directly, instead of you guessing from a screen.

Manual therapy & shockwave

Treatment options like manual therapy and shockwave therapy are only available in person, and can speed up stubborn, chronic cases.

🤝

A coordinated team, if you need it

4 Points Health is a multi-disciplinary clinic. If your case would benefit from physiotherapy, chiropractic, or another discipline alongside your tendon treatment, that's under one roof. See the full range of tendon treatment options →

Paul Cramer, RMT — founder of PainFreeTendon
Why I built this

Hi, I'm Paul — an RMT who got frustrated with how tendon pain is treated.

I've dealt with tendon pain myself, and I've spent years watching patients go through the same exhausting cycle: rest, cortisone, feel better, re-injure, repeat. The frustrating part is that the research on how to actually fix tendons has been clear for over a decade. Most treatment just hasn't caught up.

I built PainFreeTendon to close that gap — to give people access to evidence-based guidance that's honest about timelines, practical about what to do, and grounded in how tendons actually work.

What makes this different

📚

Grounded in current research

Every recommendation on this site reflects the latest tendinopathy science — load-based rehab, pain science education, and progressive capacity building.

🎯

Specialized, not general

This site does one thing: tendon pain. Not general fitness, not broad rehab advice. Deep focus on the condition most clinicians undertreat.

Practical, not theoretical

Clear next steps, not academic abstracts. Designed for people navigating real life — not a clinical protocol for researchers.

Questions

In-person care, answered

Do I need a referral to book an in-person session?

No referral needed. As an RMT, I can see you directly — just book a time and come in. If your case turns out to need another type of specialist, I'll tell you and help point you the right way.

Is in-person treatment covered by insurance?

4 Points Health offers direct billing for most extended health plans, and massage therapy is covered by many plans. Bring your insurance details to your first visit and the front desk can check your coverage before you pay anything.

What's the difference between the free assessment and an in-person visit?

The free assessment is educational — it takes about three minutes and helps you understand whether your symptoms fit a typical Achilles tendinopathy pattern. An in-person visit is a full hands-on evaluation: I'll assess your movement, load tolerance, and history, then build you a specific plan and treat you directly.

Which areas around Edmonton do you serve?

I see patients in person at 4 Points Health in central Edmonton, and regularly treat people coming from St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, and the surrounding area. If you can get to the clinic, I can help.

I'm outside Edmonton — can I still work with you?

Yes. Everything on this site, including the 12-week Achilles program and virtual 1-on-1 sessions, works remotely. In-person care at 4 Points Health is an additional option for people local to Edmonton, not a requirement.
